APPLICATION PROCESS
All families wishing to apply for public housing or Townhouse East properties must make an appointment to complete an application and a short interview with the Iola Housing Authority staff at 217 N. Washington Ave., Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Complete applications will be reviewed, references checked and all information will be verified. It takes about 10 to 14 days to process a complete application.

After the applicant is determined eligible and admission is offered, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list. The Housing Authority will notify the applicant when a home is available.
If an applicant is determined ineligible, the housing authority must state the reason. If you wish, you can request an informal hearing to appeal the ineligible decision.
A criminal history check is done on all applicants.
